Over the last decade, numerous institutions have addressed the skills and dispositions that are expected to be vital for schooling in the 21st century. Some of these skills are critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. According to many experts, although the prevailing methods of direct instruction and recitation may be effective for the acquisition of factual knowledge, these skills demand new pedagogical approaches.
Within this context, problem-based learning (PBL) has emerged as valuable inquiry approaches to achieve skills for the 21st century. It can be integrated into ANY youth or adult instructional content design.
PBL is usually described as active, student-centered method of instruction that encourage students to work in collaborative groups on real-world questions or challenges to promote the acquisition of higher-order thinking skills, while teachers act as facilitators of learning.
Our curated custom curriculum is designed so that:

PBL is usually described as active, student-centered method of instruction that encourage students to work in collaborative groups on real-world questions or challenges to promote the acquisition of higher-order thinking skills, while teachers act as facilitators of learning.
Our curated custom curriculum is designed so that:
- Students identify a real-world problem and work to find a solution
- The problem is meaningful to students—it has a connection to their real-life experiences, and they feel that it matters
- The project is framed by a story that helps to communicate the content students will learn
- Students work in groups and actively collaborate
- At the end of the project work, students present their findings rather than simply taking a test
- All ages have “Show and Tell” public / community showcase or 'exhibition' of their work and learning. With older students, presentations, videos or gallery walks of their PBL artifacts are programmed into the pacing guides provided
- All ages of content includes Higher Order Thinking and ELD techniques as well as visual vocabulary and connection that will aid in English acquisition.

5 Senses Science Animals and plants gather information about the world through their senses The five senses are seeing, hearing, tasting, touching and smelling.Senses help living things survive in their environment. Students will learn about the five senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. This course will focus on how each sense works in the body, what it looks like, and how it works.
Force-Pushes and Pulls. Young STEM Scientists will explore forces. A force is a push or pull that makes things move away from you or towards you. Forces can also make things speed up, slow down and change directions. Students will use many hands-on activities that demonstrate and amaze using force, magnets, air and water pressure as well as kinetic and solar may be explored.
Water Wonderment Water is a necessary resource, and in this program we will explore water scientifically from many aspects, surface tension, solutions and solute. We will look at it’s states of matter, and examine the principles of buoyancy, as well as other fun, wet and wondrous activities will captivate our young aqua scientists
Fairy Tale STEAM Students explore and examine a variety of classic and modern fables and fairy tales to gain a broader understanding about different areas of STEM. from building a house that the ‘Big Bad Wolf’ can’t blow down to designing a Beanstalk for Jack to get the golden goose”. Students will infuse music, art, physical education, and reading for students to be creative and imaginative for their final project.
Light and Sound Students will explore these two areas by creating art and implementing age-appropriate experiments. Prisms, sound waves, kaleidoscopes, creating music, movie sound effects, how different animals see light, how our eyes and ears work may all be addressed.
Magnificent Meteorology. This STEAM program will explore the different types of weather around the world as well as what causes the weather. Rain, solar energy, tornados, wind, clouds as well as many other sub-topics will be addressed in fun, hands-on activities.
